Tyler's 30th Birthday - Washington, DC Trip

Sunday, June 3, 2018

My husband is T H I R T Y !

So, obviously, we had to go do something crazy to celebrate - so we decided to go on a trip to Washington, DC! Two of our besties picked us up from the airport in Maryland. Somehow, we were having too much fun and forgot to take a picture - which is a good problem. After going out to dinner and getting a tour of their town, we grabbed an Uber and headed to DC.
I had never been to DC before, so I was pleasantly surprised at how PRETTY it is there! That town is gorgeous and classy!

We had some fun sight-seeing. I think I mainly was just mesmerized at trying to see how many secret service people there were hiding in plain sight or in cars around the white house. I think I've watching too many movies, because that was one of my favorite parts.

On Tyler's birthday eve, after he fell asleep I decorated the entire hotel room (complete with 30 post it notes with candles hiding all around the room), and of course took sneaky pictures. So here are those:

The morning of his birthday, he was pleasantly surprised! We staggered a few gifts throughout the day. I also had written out 30 reasons why I love him, and would give him one at different points in the day. That was fun!

For his birthday dinner, we found a Russian restaurant to eat at. (Tyler served a mission for our church for two years in Russia, which is why he chose that).

After dinner, we walked more around town and got some ice cream. I pulled out my secret birthday candles and stuck them in his ice cream for him. Y'all, I was prepared this trip. ;)

That night we went on a run to the Lincoln memorial. That was probably one of my favorite things that we did. We took pictures, but I guess they are somewhere on Tyler's phone.

We actually went running most of the days while on that trip as part of our sightseeing. And gosh, running seems way easier when you're in an urban city with a million things to look at on your route.

It was a great trip! We had fun hitting up different museums, eating all the food, and checking out different memorials. One of the most impactful ones was the Holocaust one, as you can probably imagine. It was extremely sobering but very good.

We're back with our babies now which is fun, but we definitely love our couples trips! It's nice to have a couple days of not being responsible for anyone else, or being able to just leave within 30 seconds of deciding to go somewhere. ;)

Spring Shennanigans

This post is just going to be randomness. We had family in town for a portion of the month, so Annie had a great time with them. We also just have had some really fun normal days, that warranted some pictures. So, here goes nothing:

Annie likes pretending to be a baby at church I guess?
She is DEFINITELY my child. I did this in my dogs doghouse all the time growing up. Like mother, like daughter. haha

Great Grandma Joyce!

Tylers Grandpa gave us his four wheeler. We love it! And Annie loves going on little rides with Mommy and Daddy.
Working on the Bonus Room!

Cousin picture!
Annie and her cousin Peter. Obligatory baby bath picture!

Annie enjoys trying on Momma's high heels. She especially loves doing it while she isn't wearing any other clothes. This child is a fun piece of work.

Laura's Baby Blessing

Sunday, April 22, 2018

Baby Laura had her blessing day! We had so much family here to celebrate the special day with us. Most of my family attended, as well as Tyler's parents, Aunt & Uncle, and his brother's family. It was awesome!

Gene, Michele, Susan, Annie, Tyler, Me, Laura, Uncle Ken, Aunt Diane, Travis, Cami, Peter
Gosh. There's too many of us, so I'm not going to worry about this one ;) .
Us with Grandma Susan

Here is our niece, Camilla, and our nephew, Peter. Everyone was taking cute pictures that day!

Annie was really excited to take pictures that morning before church. ;)

We took a few pictures once we got home from church. As much as I love the gorgeous church gym background, I thought Laura could use a couple with better lighting. Sorry Laura, your momma likes taking a million photos. :)

In that same trip, we were able to run off to an escape room with Travis & Cami (Clue themed). We didn't make it, but we had a lot of fun in the process!

Tyler's Dad was also in town before and after helping us work on our bonus room. He is the project MASTER. He helped us frame, do electrical, sheetrock, and build a custom door for our bonus room. It was amazing! He is a father in law of many talents!

Laura's blessing was extremely sweet. Tyler did a good job, and we felt so loved with how many family members were there to help us welcome our sweet baby girl. We love you all!

Until next time,
Rifka
