Annie's 2nd Birthday

Wednesday, March 14, 2018

My sweet Baby Annie is TWO! I. Can't. Believe. It. She's growing up too fast and I'm hating it and loving it all at the same time.

WARNING - LOVEY DOVEY MOTHER RANT:
Y'all. Annie is The. Absolute. Best. I am such a lucky girl and mother that I was blessed with my Annie girl as my first baby. She was a great introduction into motherhood. She is so fun, happy, energetic and always down to do whatever. She is my mini me - in looks and in personality. Tyler and my family are constantly telling me that she's my mini me, and it's so FUN. One day you might read this Annie, and when/if you do, just know that I LOVE YOU! I'm a lucky Momma to be blessed with such a sweet, beautiful and happy girl in my life. Everyone - and I mean EVERYONE (even the dog!) loves your guts. We are all lucky to have you!

Thanks for letting me get gushy. :) Soo, anyways, for Annie's second birthday we had a great day! Tyler left work early for a half day in the morning and we went to Gentry Safari. Annie is currently obsessed with animals, everything from cows to lions, (special thanks to The Lion King, haha) so we knew that heading to the Gentry Safari would be one of the best gifts we could give.

She was in love looking at all of the animals as we drove through the safari. Afterwards we did the petting zoo and walk around portion. She had a great time with the goats, emu's, kangaroos, giraffe's, monkeys, wolves, and everything else that we saw.

Tyler was really excited about the Giraffes. He was surprised and excited about being able to be so close to them and feed them.

After the Safari, Tyler went back to work and we went home for our normal nap routine. That night, Annie had her own special birthday cupcake from Bliss Cupcakes. It was amazing that I didn't sneak bites of it on the way home in the car. That took some willpower. Afterwards we did presents and had fun spending time together as a family. It was a great day celebrating our sweet Annie!

Happy Birthday, sweet Annie girl! We sure do love you! We're thankful everyday that you were sent to us! :)

Baby Laura's First Bath!

Wednesday, February 14, 2018

Baby Laura had her first bath the other night - so of course it turned into a picture session! You can't not document the cuteness of a first bath!
Annie was very observant. She wasn't quite sure what we were doing with her little sister.
Max was just glad he wasn't the one getting a bath. ;)

Laura wasn't necessarily loving it, or hating it. She thought the experience was sufficient.

She was having a fine time until she decided she was feeling chilly. So I took over and we hustled to get her clean. Even when she's sad, she's cute!

Happy clean babies = happy mommies. Thanks for reading!

Lifestyle Shoot | New Baby | New Home

Thursday, February 1, 2018

So, as many of you know, we spent the entire year last year living in an apartment while we were building a house! Not gonna lie, it was hard. It was hard to be pregnant and have half of my things in storage. It was also hard to not be able to nest or feel prepared at all for the baby. We weren't pregnant when we moved into the apartment, so of course I packed all of our baby things away in storage, thinking that we would be in a house by time we had another baby. Well, I was wrong. We ended up living with my mom for the entire last month of my pregnancy. Our lease was up, our house was really close to being done, and I knew that I did not want to take my baby home to the apartment. So thankfully, my parents let us join them for a few weeks while we were in transition. It ended up being a huge blessing since both Annie and I got sick with the flu when I was due to have the baby at anytime. My mom was supermom and saved the day.
Here's little Annie loving life while living at Grandma's.
Grandma's house means sweet treats daily!

While we were staying at my moms, I took some pictures of Laura just to document her fresh little newborn-ness. Here are some of those shots, as well as the behind the scenes with my little helper, Annie.

About a week after having the baby, our house was finished! We had help from our family and church and got to move into our house! About a week after that, we had a lifestyle shoot to document this time with the new baby. It was fun - but also stressful since, in my head, I had to have rooms unpacked and ready for a photoshoot, even though I had a newborn. I'm a mess. Anyways, it all turned out fine! Here are some pictures I took of the baby at my moms while she was super fresh and new, and then here are also some of the pictures from the photoshoot that my friend, Emily, took for us at our home. I'm so grateful we got some family shots to document such a crazy and sweet time!
